TOGA ARCHIVES SS15

IMG_3249

Toga Archives SS15 produced a wonderful collection of strong pieces,  showcased within the gorgeously grand-cum-industrial background of the Renaissance Hotel at St Pancras. The first half of the collection glowed with neutrals, golden yellows & intimidating whites, bookmarked with black pants or swinging maxi overcoats (NB, apparently there were two halves, Sophie at La Fashion Folie ended up capturing the second half, so between us we covered full ground!) Silhouettes were bold and beautiful, empowering with glimpses of unabashed femininity such as the angled, pleated hem, or the pointed bralette. Accessorising was key, as ears were emblazoned with oversized cuffs or geometric shapes trailing over the neckline, and reflective silver hair ties captured the sleek ponytail of the Toga woman, keeping the whole look neat & on track. Brushes of pink or yellow colour were boldly washed over the eyes whilst lips were kept nude, the colour rediscovering itself again on a gauzy yellow pocket here, a pink & black sandal there. The subtle intricacies of a hand-stitched, crocheted sleeve, or a ruffled, gathered neckline continued to emphasise the idea that this collection was the product of a particularly detailed and thought out aesthetic, epitomising what the designers mused to be "fragments, reflection, floating."
